A couple of people have asked me to write a
tutorial using Artistic Effects. I'm thrilled that
some of you have decided to purchase these set of
plugins!! I've been trying to figure out the easiest way for
me to write one and haven't been able to come up
with anything except this one. So I
have written some quick notes about these plugins in hopes you will understand how they
work. That way you can adjust them to suit your own
needs.
What
you'll need for this tutorial:
Lokas Software's
Artistic Effects
tutsupply.zip
Open
up the file and you'll notice that there are 3
layers to this file:
-
tie - this layer is hidden for now. Leave
it hidden for now. You don't need it yet,
but will later.
-
balloon - this is the layer you should have
active. This is the layer we will be
working on first.
-
background - I like to work with some kind of a
backdrop so I can see my work better. You
don't need this layer.
With
your balloon layer active, go to Lokas Effects and choose the Aqua plugin.
Apply the settings below. You can save this
setting, if you'd like. Just press on the Presets
button at the top. Choose Save Settings... and give
it a name.

There ya go!!! It really doesn't get much easier
than that. Now yours should look exactly like mine
above. |
Okay. It looks great just the way it is. BUT
don't be afraid to try a couple of different effects
together. You can come up with some really great
looking styles. For example...
