There are many ways to make your text
look like silver. This is just one very simple way to
do just that. This tutorial is great for beginners!
First things first, you'll need a
font to work with. You can choose your own favorite or
download this free one right
here.
Next, you'll need my
inner
bevel preset. Download the preset here and
place the preset in your Presets folder usually located
at: C:\My Documents\My PSP8 Files\Presets
-
Start a new document by going to

Select your Text tool
and click somewhere in the center of you canvas.
Apply these settings:

-
Type in something...anything. I'm
just going to use my name. =) Click OK
-
Go to Effects...3D Effects...Inner
Bevel... and in the drop-down menu, find the preset
named shinythings_mdh, that you downloaded earlier
or click apply the settings I've used below. Click
here for a screenshot.
-
Now your text may look a little
funky right now, but let's add a shadow to it! Go
to Effects...3D Effects...Shadow and apply these
settings: Click
here for a screenshot.
That's really all there is to it.

NOTES:
The inner bevel preset
included in this tutorial can be applied to more
than just fonts. Try using it with shapes or
dingbats. It works best when used with dark
colors. In fact, the darker the color, the
better.
